Car history: |
This is a 1968 Corvette in good condition. I purchased the car five years ago. The speedometer at that time had 59,000+ miles. I replaced the speedometer cable and it currently has 63,321 miles. I cannot verify if this is the original miles since the speedometer did not work when I got the vehicle. The previous owner had car for about six years; he put the paint job on. Prior to his ownership, the car had been in storage for seven years when the 427 was taken out (gas saving 350 was installed haha). Exterior: I have replaced all the chrome on the back of the car. The rest of the chrome looks food for a daily driver. The paint job is good daily driver quality. Interior: This car has a telescoping steering wheel, no power brakes, no power steering and no power windows. The interior of the car has new carpet, door panels and original radio (which does not work). Seats are fair for this year but need redone. Three storage compartments work. Mechanical: I have replaced the entire vacuum system: hoses, controls and actuators. The tires are new (less than 300 miles). The wheels are not original for this year. They are 8 in. and a set of five from a 1971 Corvette; they were sandblasted and repainted. Exhaust system is fairly new. To the best of my knowledge, this is a 427/400hp automobile but has a 350 with mild cam and new 600 holley carburetor. Transmission was rebuilt: new seal kit put in just before I purchased it and it works good. The brake system was rebuilt in 2005: calibers, pads, rotors, flex hose lines, proportioning valve and master cylinder were replaced at this time. I have purchased most of the system for power steering which will go with the car, not installed. New windshield wiper motor was installed a month ago. 63,321 miles. August 11, 2009. |
